Reverend Mignon Jones-Spann, Minister of Adults, Discipleship & Evangelism Is a proud native of Baltimore, Maryland and spent her formative years in Washington D. C. She is the daughter of Ronald E. Jones (deceased) and Joyce M. Robinson. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior as a young adult. She accepted her call to ministry in 2007 and was licensed by the Great Hope Baptist Church, Richmond, VA under Rev. Dr. Earl L. Bledsoe. She has served as Youth Minister at Little Union Baptist Church, Dumfries, Virginia and as an Associate Minister/Youth Minister at Cartersville Baptist Church, Reston, Virginia. In November of 2013 Rev. Mignon had the distinction of being the first woman ordained by the Rev. Dr. Kenneth R. Kemp and the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, San Antonio, TX to preach the Gospel message of Jesus Christ.
While in Virginia, she was a member of the International Association of Ministers Wives and Ministers Widows. With IAMWMW she served on the local level as Chaplain in the Northern Virginia and Vicinity chapter (2009) and as a workshop facilitator at the Northeast Regional Conference (2010). She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Reverend Mignon has also served as the Titus II Advisor to the president of the Protestant Women of the Chapel at Camp Zama, Japan (2006-2007). Reverend Mignon served as the chaplain of the Association of Black Seminarians at Princeton Theological Seminary (2011-2013) and was also a member of the campus Deacon Leadership Team (2012-2013). From 2015 to 2017 she had the pleasure of serving as a volunteer team chaplain for the WNBA San Antonio Stars.
Rev. Mignon graduated with honors from the University of the District of Columbia earning a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education as well as a Masters Degree in Adult and Continuing Education from Kansas State University. In 2013, Rev. Mignon earned a Masters of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary and was the recipient of The Charles Reller Abiding Memorial Fund Award and the George L. Rentschler Award in Speech Communication.
Reverend Mignon Jones-Spann is married to Reverend Willie A. Spann, (Ret. LTC). They have one son, Aubrey J. Spann. She is currently on staff serving as the Minister of Adults, Discipleship & Evangelism and Staff Supervisor at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in San Antonio, Texas under the pastorate of Rev. Dr. Kenneth R. Kemp. Rev. Mignon has a passion for God, God’s word and God’s people. She strives to be a yielded vessel for God’s use. Proverbs 3:5-6 is one of her guiding scriptures.
