Antioch Celebrates 17 Years of Pastoral Leadership
Antioch Missionary Baptist Church invites the San Antonio community to join a monthlong celebration honoring the 17th pastoral anniversary of Pastor Kenneth R. Kemp and Lady Velma W. Kemp.
For 17 years, Pastor Kemp and Lady Kemp have served Antioch through faithful leadership, ministry and a commitment to the spiritual well-being of the congregation. This anniversary provides church members, friends and community supporters with an opportunity to recognize their service while celebrating what God has accomplished through their leadership.
The observance will take place throughout September 2026, with a special guest minister delivering the message each Sunday morning.
The celebration begins on September 6 with Dr. Eric Mansfield, associate pastor of Lewis Chapel Baptist Church in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
On September 13, Antioch will welcome Dr. Christopher Stackhouse of Lewis Chapel Baptist Church in Fayetteville.
The anniversary continues on September 20 with Dr. Eric Alexander of St. Luke Baptist Church in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
The monthlong celebration concludes on September 27 with Rev. Dexter McDonnell of God’s Way Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
Each service will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, located at 1001 North Walters Street in San Antonio.
A pastoral anniversary is more than a recognition of the number of years a pastor has served. It is a time to celebrate the prayers, sacrifices, guidance and shared ministry that help a church grow. It also honors the important contributions of the pastor’s family, whose support often strengthens the work taking place within the congregation and throughout the community.
Under the leadership of Pastor Kemp and with the support of Lady Kemp, Antioch continues its tradition of worship, service and Christian fellowship in San Antonio.
Church members, former members, neighboring congregations and community supporters are encouraged to attend this special anniversary celebration. Join Antioch each Sunday in September as the congregation gives thanks for 17 years of pastoral leadership and looks forward with faith to the ministry still ahead.
