Good morning, Antioch family! We are excited to share a lineup of wonderful events and celebrations scheduled for August through October. From honoring our leadership to supporting our seniors and engaging our youth, there is something for everyone to look forward to.
Here is what’s coming up at the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church:
1. Celebrating 17 Years of Faithful Leadership
Throughout the entire month of September, join us every Sunday morning as we celebrate the 17th Pastoral Anniversary of Pastor Kenneth Kemp and Lady Velma Kemp.
We are honored to host a series of featured ministers during this celebration:
- Dr. Eric Mansfield
- Dr. Christopher Stackhouse
- Dr. Eric Alexander
- Reverend Dexter McDonald

2. 21st Annual African American Citywide Seniors Conference
Our seniors are a vital part of our community, and we are proud to host this year’s conference with the theme “United We Stand.”
- When: Saturday, September 4th | 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM
- Where: E. Thurman Walker Sports Complex (314 E. Ross, San Antonio, TX)
- Who: All seniors aged 55 and up.
- What: Discover available services for seniors, Medicare benefits, home safety tips, mental health resources, and more.
- Don’t Forget: Wear your most creative cap for a morning of fun and fellowship!

3. Kicking it with the Kemps (Youth & Young Adults)
Calling all youth and young adults! Join us for a casual, meaningful conversation with Pastor and First Lady Kemp.
- When: Sunday, September 13th (Immediately following the 10:00 AM service)
- Where: Rector Hall
- What: This is an opportunity to connect beyond the Sunday service. Expect insights into biblical wisdom, practical life advice, and discussions on faith and family as we build stronger relationships with Christ and each other.
4. Round Table Discussion & Brunch with Lady Velma Kemp
As part of the 17th Pastoral Anniversary celebrations, Lady Velma Kemp invites you to a special morning of food and fellowship.

- Where: Antioch Sports Complex and Community Center

5. The 2026 Antioch Cook-off Competition
Do you have what it takes to be the best chef in the church? It’s time to put your skills to the test!
- When: Sunday, October 11th (Immediately following the 10:00 AM service)
- Where: Rector Hall
- Cost: $8 for tickets (to eat/attend) | $25 for cook registration
